This small, family-owned accommodation boasts amazing views of a valley, which can be enjoyed from private balconies and the terrace with a pool. The daily breakfast offers a variety of fresh options. Rooms are clean and comfortable, with large bathrooms. The staff are friendly, accommodating and went out of their way to make guests feel at home. Some guests appreciated the firm beds and the bottle of port wine and cherries on arrival.

Communication may present a challenge, as the host speaks limited English.

The view from our room at Casa Vale Do Douro was absolutely breathtaking. We enjoyed sipping wine on our private balcony while taking in the incredible scenery of the valley. The staff was kind and accommodating, making dinner reservations for us and serving a delicious breakfast. We felt truly relaxed and at home during our stay. I highly recommend this hotel for a memorable experience.

It was easy to reach the cafes and restaurants in the nearby town, and the daily breakfast was a huge plus. We appreciated the kindness of the staff, especially when they went out of their way to make us feel welcomed.

Sadly, the beds were not comfortable at all. It was difficult to get a good night's sleep, and that ended up being a major downside for us.
